Pugs Available for Adoption
The following pugs are available for adoption or have already been placed in loving homes. All of our pugs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, and heartworm negative. Every pug is seen by a veterinarian prior to being offered for adoption and has been treated for any known health problems. Our adoption fee is between $100-$350, depending on the health and age of the pug. One hundred percent of this fee is put back into CPR to pay for the medical expenses and treatment of our rescue pugs. You must fill out an Adoption Application if you're interested in adopting a pug from CPR.

Howdy! My name is Bentley! I am a 5-year-old pup that loves nothing more than sitting in your lap or relaxing by your side. I am a very outgoing ‘fella and I get along very nicely with children and other dogs. And, not to brag, but I would like to share that I am potty trained!
I eat a special food to help me with skin allergies and I need a good ear cleaning once a week to ward against infections. But, I like to think the regular ear cleanings keep me listening like a good boy!

Hi! I am Jasper. Well, I am now. I was called Run A42 when I was at the animal shelter. The ladies at the shelter called CPR and here I am. I am about 5 years old, neutered and I SMILE!!! A lot!! I love to smile. I also love playing in the backyard, chasing the cat (he’s bigger than me!!), and getting belly rubs and food!!! All of my neighbor dogs are great fun too, and my foster sister and brother are teaching me how to play with toys! I know how to sit when I am asked and I like to tell you all about my day!
I do have a cataract in my right eye, but it doesn’t affect my personality at all!! I also had a hematoma in my right ear that wasn’t cared for properly, but its okay now.

Update 9/28/08:
So, here I am again. I went to the vet yesterday. And he looked me over and said that I DO have a mature cataract in my right eye but I can still see shadows with it. And my right front leg was injured a long time ago. He said that my heart sounds good (I can’t hear it, but I will take his word for it) and that I am super cute and very healthy! I was only 10 pounds when I came to my foster home, but now I am 14 pounds! YAY! I don’t look too skinny anymore.
I do snore a lot! LOL Foster mom says I sound like a chainsaw! I don’t know what that is, but they are apparently pretty loud, and I still smile and LOVE to tell everyone all about my day!

Well hello there everyone! I am Tootie aka Tootie Fruite because I am just that sweet! They think I am in the 10 year range but after a good Doctor visit and some antibiotics for my kennel cough and infected teeth I feel like I am 5 again. I have got a little pep in my step and am just as sweet as sugar. As far as senior pugs, (I am not thrilled with that classification) I am very well off. Once I get my teeth cleaned and these few infections beat I am ready to go! I have perfect eyes and need no drops or long term medication just a cool floor and a nice lap to sit on! I am almost potty trained, but I have had a few accidents but it has been very confusing for me lately. I get along with just about any animal.

Hi! My name is Lilo! I came into rescue with my pal Taz. I am currently in my foster home and so far I have adjusted fairly well. I have some vision problems, but I am learning my way around and I know exactly where my new comfy dog bed is and I have mastered the doggie door. I recently went to the vet and my doctors found two mass cell tumors. I will be having them removed shortly. It would be great to have a few foster angels to support me through this time.

Hi! My name is Penelope but you can call me Penny. I am little girl 5 years of age. I am looking for my forever home. I have had a bit of a tough go of it before I was surrendered to the kind folks at Compassionate Pug Rescue. I had a mammary gland tumor but that has since been removed and I am now in the clear! I am great as an only dog or with larger breed, male dogs. With children, I like the older kids best because they tend to be more gentle with me.
I like to tell you when I am hungry by giving you a little lip curl and my signature “feed me” bark. Like most pugs I like to eat but have not had much in the way of a healthy feeding schedule in the past and I may take a little longer to chew than other pugs my age because I have lost a couple of teeth. I am eager to please and enjoy sitting on your lap, by your side or at your feet. I would be most comfortable living in a home with lots of carpeting and limited steps or staircases. (Since I am fully potty trained, I promise not ruin the rugs!) Going to a home without steps, though, would benefit me because I have a slight disc degenerative condition. I don’t need any medications to treat that, though. However, I will need an over the counter (Genteal) eye medication daily but I take it with ease. This is to keep my big beautiful eyes healthy. I mean, really, if you see my photo, don’t you just melt over my longing gaze?

Hello there pug lovers, my name is Meadow! I am an 8 year old love bug that is looking for a special home with a family that can give me a little extra TLC. See I am blind and I am diabetic. Luckily for me, however, my diabetes can be easily managed with a strict feeding schedule and insulin shots - which I am proud to say I take like a champ!
While I can’t see, once I get the lay of the land, I get around quite easily. I love to go outdoors and use my other senses to explore. Not being able to see does not make me timid at all. I love to play and I challenge you to a game of tug of war, my friend. It’s my game of choice!
I am most definitely a people person and I get along very well with children, however, I prefer a home on the quiet side. I love to cuddle and gentle touches speak volumes to me.

Hello there pug lovers! My name is Snoopy. I may not be the youngest pug here, but my foster mom says that sometimes I get so excited and playful that I remind her of a puppy. My vision isn’t great, technically I’m blind, but I can see shadows so that helps me get around. Lucky, for me I have a keen sense of smell so that really helps me find my way and if you are in the room I can smell you out! It is quite surprising how well I can get along once I learn the layout of the house. I get a few eye drops that have really made a difference in my eyes. The drops help keep my eyes moist so that it is easy for me to blink.
One thing that I have learned in life is to go potty outside. Just tell me the potty schedule and if you keep with the schedule I will hold up my end of the deal.
In the evenings, I love to cuddle on the couch or snooze on your lap. And when you get home, I will be there to greet you every day with this gorgeous face and a wagging tail.

Hello everyone! My name is Buddy. My foster mom says I am very smart. In less than a week I have learned all kinds of new things and boy do I love it! I have been learning my basics commands (sit, down, stay, ‘ouch’ -when I mouth too hard...oops!, walking nicely on the leash, touch-which means touch my nose to a target, give paw, and high five), house manners, and potty training (I haven’t had any accidents in the house...yeah!). I even sleep well in my crate at night. I tried to convince my foster mom to let me do whatever I want, but she says that all good Puggies need to learn manners and houserules. I am a very smart and active baby boy, so I would really love a family that will give me a sport or job in addition to being a couch pug-tatoe.
