Why Rescue
Some rescues have behavioral problems, some have medical problems. Some are puppy mill dogs that have been warehoused in cages and have no concept of human interaction. Whatever their origination, they all require and deserve the commitment of unconditional love. Dealing with the baggage can be hard work, but it is returned tenfold.
CPR Pugs live in foster homes during their behavioral evaluation. They are given a physical, altered, and begin treatment for any medical problems. Fostering each dog gives us the chance to get to know and evaluate their personality. The more we can tell the adoptive family about the dog the better.
A CPR Pug also comes with its own owner support system. Volunteers are always available to help in any way possible with problems or questions about the new family member. And, in the event the rescue isn’t the right match for your home, CPR is always ready to accept a returned Pug. All adopters must agree to return the dog to us if it cannot be kept for any reason. Anyone who has adopted a dog can tell you that at least once they have looked at their pup and marveled at how in the world anyone could have given him up and how lucky they felt to have found him.
Whether you find your dog through rescue or a breeder, go in with your eyes wide open. If you know you haven’t the time for housebreaking, teething and the rest that goes with being a pet owner but you want to help, Virtual Fostering is another way to show your support and make a difference for one of our rescues. If you would like to make a donation to help one of our rescues specifically, just click the button below and name the lucky pug in the message area of the donation page. Your donations with go toward that pug’s medical care and food. The smallest donation makes a huge difference. Thank you for your support.
