Happy Endings
Ricky & Lucy

Before coming into CPR’s care, Ricky and Lucy were two nameless pugs with severe cases of both types of mange that had been brought to animal control to be euthanized. But very gratefully, animal control contacted CPR and CPR whisked them off to Hollywood Animal Hospital for immediate treatment to begin. Unfortunately, they also contracted kennel cough from the time spent at animal control. Ricky’s condition was very serious and I questioned Marcia if he would make it.
I was devastated after the sudden death of my beloved pug Doug; CPR’s understanding of the loss of a pug comforted me as we communicated. Then THEY came along. CPR allowed me to choose their names. Ricky and Lucy seemed appropriate, because they brought me happiness again and quite often, made me laugh. I met Marcia and picked up only Lucy at first, Ricky was too sick to leave the hospital. Lucy was as sweet as could be, playful, wanted to give lots of love and very happy to be out of the hospital. Almost 10 days later CPR finally called saying Ricky was doing well enough to be picked up. Now they were reunited and were recuperating together. They had several more dips to go but slowly their coats grew back and they were more energetic, healthy and playful each day. They finally tested negative to any mange, and had a clean bill of health and with spaying and neutering scheduled, I could officially adopt them. As you can see by their pictures, they have progressed into two healthy, happy pugs that made the three of us a family.
