Happy Endings

Tommy

Tommy

Tommy has taken very quickly to his new home and family. In fact he stands proudly at any entrance to greet all passers by, just in case a petting hand should come his way. Tommy is another success story thanks to the wonderful work at the Miami Pug Rescue, thanks CPR for all your help and such a wonderful cause!

We want to introduce ourselves to everyone looking in on us and many other fortunate pugs who were blessed by God to be taken in, given medical care, loved a barrel full, and given new homes by the “Angels” at CPR.

We are Henry (aka Tommy) and Maggie (aka Angel). We are both from Miami as we have been told.

I (Henry) was found by Animal Control, dodging cars, unfriendly people, and just having an all around bad beginning to my short life. I was suffering from a very bad case of demodex mange, pretty skinny, and pretty afraid of people’s hands. But CPR came to my rescue. I was off to a wonderful foster home in Miami with my new foster Dad Ken who took great care of me. OK, Maggie it is your turn.

I (Maggie) was also found by Animal Control, but I was in pretty bad shape for such a young girl. I had been hit by a car and had a right hip fracture, fractured pelvic bone, and a left femur fracture in three places. Needless to say, I was feeling pretty low and in a lot of pain. But the “Angels” at CPR came to my rescue. Over the next 4 months I had more surgery than I care to remember (performed by Dr. John Dee and the wonderful staff at Hollywood Animal Hospital) and was given soooo much loving care by my new foster Mommies Gail and Amy. We went through a lot together and I couldn’t have made it without their tender, loving support and care.

Now come the best part. We are both now all healed from all our medical problems. And once again CPR came to our rescue and found us a loving home on the banks of the St. Lucie River in Stuart, FL. (We like to call it “The Pug Resort).

We have two new pug sisters, Lillie and Maxine who welcomed us with opens paws into their house. Their Mommy and Daddy are wonderful people, who really, really love us a lot. They let us get on the couch with them to watch TV, take us for walks, snuggle in bed, but not all night cause it gets a little crowded with us 4 dogs and 2 people, (you know those people, they take up the whole bed) and best of all, we get to go on vacation with them in their motorhome. We have been blessed by CPR. We are truly “A VERRY HAPPY ENDING”

P.S.  We can’t thank the selfless volunteers at CPR for all their hard work. It is because of all your dedication that these 2 wonderful, loving pugs survived the terrible beginning of their lives and have filled our lives with such joy and love that we will never be able to repay them. May God Bless You All.

Dear CPR,

On behalf of my new family and myself, I wish to thank you and all of the volunteers at CPR for placing me in my new home.  Thanks to your compassion and your monetary support I was able to have cataract surgery and lens implants which brought the great wide world back to me.  I can see fire hydrants and ducks from a long way away now!  Oh boy!  I love my new family too!  My new brother Rocky opened his home and his heart to me.  He plays with me and naps with me and protects me and gets in trouble with me too.

My new mommy and daddy take real good care of me.  My favorite thing is when mommy goes to the kitchen to make dinner.  I am sure to get some lettuce or a piece of broccoli if I follow her in there.  As for daddy, I love to pester him when he has strawberries!  They really taste good.  When he rubs my belly I fall fast asleep and snore with utter contentment.

Anyway, I just want you to keep up the good work.  CPR has been a blessing to me and my new family.

Sincerely,

Bunnie

Hello Its Mr.Pickles / AKA Lance

Mr.Pickles is doing really great!

He is adored and I cant thank you enough for sending him my way. He (along with my girls) make me very happy.

Life can’t get much better than this!

I feel like a new Pug and live like a pug really should. I am enjoying life with my new family so very much. I feel better I look better and I am so happy. My new mom cuddles and kisses me all the time which I just love. I have 2 pug sisters who have included me in the group with no problem; they even let me curl up on the big pillow our mom puts on the floor. Even the big fat cat Willie is starting to accept that I’m here to stay.

When I first came to my new home I had lots of things wrong with me, things didn’t really look that good for me and I needed a lot of care-even a blood transfusion!  My new family did everything the doctors and the nice pug lady suggested. Little by little with lots and love and let’s not forget good food (cause I was really skinny) I began to come around. Now I’m a new man.

I am so lucky to have been given to the nice pug lady because most other people would not have seen any hope with me. I got a second chance and I couldn’t be happier.

Thanks for a new start!

Love,
Mr. Pickles

Spirit

After a close call with the grim reaper, CPR pulled me from the pound despite my definitive non-puggish good looks.  Marcia and gang saw how lonely I was and gave me months of love and treatment for my kennel cough. A few months later, on a fateful night in November, my mom’s insomnia led her to petfinder in search of a new best friend.  In a small apartment, already home to two cats and with a busy career, she was unsure about adding to the family.  She told me that somewhere around 4am, my brown eyes peered back from her laptop and she knew we were meant for each other.  I came home just days later for a trial run as a foster but knew within minutes this would be my forever home.

I’ve already learned so much.  I can sit, stand, give paw, lay down and stay nomatter how long the front door is left open.  Plus, I have made a lot of new friends at the dog park down the street and you should see me cruising in the family convertible (always wearing my seatbelt of course!).  I’m still trying to win over the kitties, but they are starting to trust me more every day.

Thanks to CPR for taking care of me.  Mom says the fur-family is now complete and we couldn’t be happier!

Love,
Spirit

Pearl

Pearl

CPR rescued Pearl on her last day at animal services. After rescuing a pug there and seeing this beautiful face, we could not let her be put to sleep.
Animal services missed that Pearl had a completely dislocated femur and previously fractured hip.  Pearl required orthopedic surgery to give her the quality of life she so deserves.  Many thanks to her new wonderful forever family, Pam and David for nursing her back to heath and giving her the home of her dreams.

It’s been 4 weeks since Pearl’s surgery and she’s walking fine all all 4 legs, but, still hops on 3 legs when she’s in a hurry.. The muscle tone is improving on the leg that was operated on, too.  And maybe she’s put on another pound but looks really healthy.

Everyday that passes she seems more comfortable and trusting of us. She is also more interested in play and her toys, too. My husband said today “we’ve bonded”.  I’m so glad she’s healthy of our family. Thank You CPR for bringing us together.

Thank You,
Pam Moore
